Weather and Climate

Summer
In Truckee, California average summer temperatures range from 40 degrees (low) to 79 degrees (high). Occasionally, summer skies give way to Sierra thundershowers, but these don’t last long. Always bring a light sweater, sweatshirt and/or jacket for the cool, summer evenings.

Winter
Average winter temperatures range from 17 degrees (low) to 42 degrees (high). Average total snowfall is 201 inches and total precipitation averages 30 inches. While the Tahoe region is recognized for moderate weather conditions, it is important to bring warm outerwear or dress in layers as mountain weather can change quickly, and frequently.
